Pros: Just in a couple weeks I noticed a difference in my abdominal strength. It's short and the movements are easy especially when understanding the breathing and alignment behind each exercise to clearly explained in both the instructional portion and even the straight run through of the workout. I'm so thankful for how low impact and effective this workout is!

Pros: The Pilates DVD consists of 2 Parts. The first Part is a straight through part where you are shown all the exercises and their repetitions. You can jump right into it, if you are already familiar with Pilates and know how to execute the exercises. The second part is a bit different. Pastor Lynn explains the same exercises again very slowly and in addition to that she gives alternatives. Everybody has a different level of fitness, so for some it is not possible to perform the exercises as they are shown but needs to make alterations to be able to do them. So, I and everybody can do this DVD and start profiting from the Pilates Workout, to become stronger and more stable in the core.

Pros: I would like to emphasize the importance of watching the preliminary portion first. Even a couple of times. Pilates has its own terminology to describe exercises and body movement and Pastor Lynn is kind enough to take the time to explain them to us. Also, the breathing technique is counter-intuitive to what most of us have been taught over the years. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated her going over the inhale and exhale multiple times throughout both the preliminary DVD as well as the full workout portion of the DVD. I would gladly recommend this DVD to anyone.

Exercises appear and are really very simple. However for many of us these exercises have us use muscles that we forget to use on a daily basis. Pros: The detail in the Form and Modification portion of the DVD is very encouraging to new Pilates students and makes us feel confident that over time with consistency and attention to detail, we can expect real positive results. I especially appreciate Pastor Lynn’s transparency regarding how Pilates helped her transform after a season of “stillness”. As with most worship dancers who have been at it for any length of time, I have had the circumstances go off like a giant bomb exploding to halt God’s plans and purposes for my life. It is hard for any of us to escape having children, not having children but adopting, new jobs, job losses, moving, injuries, surgeries, dance team members joining, dance team members leaving, church splits – you name it, life happens to all of us.

Pros: As a Physical Therapist, I found this video helpful because each movement is explained simply and clearly doing 5 reps each. It works not just the ab muscles but also the back extensors which are often neglected in core workouts. So, I enjoyed Lynn Hayden's inclusion of formal anatomical words to keep it professional but not too much so that people are lost in the technical terms. After having 4 babies of my own as a PT, I found this workout very helpful to regain my core strength.

The exercises are really helpful for warming up the body properly for further work, and are helpful to get in touch with the spine and each vertebra. A huge benefit of doing these exercises is that they teach you how to breathe properly -- not only through the lower abdomen but through chest and sides. The exercises are very well-explained and are easy to follow, and the fact that they are repeated really helps.

Pros: There are many benefits from doing this Pilates Video – you will see improvements in flexibility, posture and abdominal strength -- and decreases in back, neck, and joint pain. It doesn’t take much room or space to do the Dancing for Him Pilates video. You only need a yoga mat or something like an exercise mat or foam to cushion your spine and grip your feet onto and Lynn gives great instruction you can do along with her as if she is right there with you! Doing this Pilates video is great way to help your body gain a long, lean look without bulky muscles, but with all the strength. I have noticed a change in my body since I started doing it and my lower back is getting much stronger.

Pros: As a dancer and fitness instructor, I thought I was symmetrically strong...until I tried Pilates. I am repeatedly humbled by this DVD! The benefit, however, is that I have discovered the imbalances in my body - that my left side is much stronger and I reinforce its strength by relying on it - and am working to increase my strength on the right side as well as practice engaging all postural muscles properly. If you want to improve your posture, symmetrical strength, and flexibility as well, this is just is just the ticket!
