With regard to worship dance:

  • Would you like to understand better a dancer's true motivation?
  • Would you like to have some insight to the congregation's attitude?

You'll certainly want this book!

This is a cutting edge resource that takes a straight forward look at practical answers to reasonable questions from pastors, dancers, and congregations.

It reveals the heart of a Pastor, the motivation of a dancer, and the judgment of a congregation. Some questions discussed are:

  • If I consider dance as a viable ministry in my church and let some dance, won't I run the risk of losing some of my other parishioners?
  • Do I just want to perform for acceptance?
  • Praise Him with the Dance. Yeah, but now?

Discover, through heartfelt discussion, how we can be less likely to point a finger toward those who are pointing their toes, while finding out "What's The Pointe?"

If you are a worship dancer and dance in church, you'll love this book!!

Here is what one reader wrote about the book:

Be sure to check out the all new Called To Dance DVD as well. It will compliment this book nicely.

"As worship dancers, people in the congregation sometimes just do not understand what we are doing…it could be attributed to confusion due to the messages they see from other dancing in the world, skepticism of whether or not there is anointing there or simply entertainment value, or if it is only nice for “special occasions.”  The list goes on…

"What I love about this little book is that it is designed for helping bring understanding to the skeptic, helps answer questions, and provides truth and revelation when it comes to dancing for the Lord.   Because the call of a dance minister is unique and not always considered “traditional,” it is necessary to be able to discuss these questions with anyone who ever asks or wonders."

"This book brought me encouragement, personally.  I was the first person in our church to dance, and it was such a leap of faith (no pun intended) to step out and be obedient to God’s voice.  I worried about what the other members would think of me, and I was afraid I would look like a show off. I worried about whether or not there would be anointing and power manifested, or if it would just look “cute.”  But with studying, we show ourselves approved.  When we search for truth, the truth indeed sets us free.  I saw this as I read this book!   I am so thankful for a Pastor who not only embraces dance ministry, but has allowed me to teach on it several times during Bible Study.  I have used this book to discuss common questions people have.  I’d recommend it to any dance minister!" Dance in the Church: What's the Pointe?

Length of ownership: 1 month-1 year

Pros: Thanks for pointing out that the point of dance in the church is not to see if we can “out do” each other or the last dance we did. I’m still digging deeply into my heart for an answer to “why do you dance?” I truly enjoyed reading the flier entitled "Performance vs. Ministry."

Absolute Must Have

Length of ownership: more than 1 year

Pros: This tiny little book written by Pastor Lynn Hayden with Dancing For Him Ministries is pure gold. It addresses so much of what is often the discussion concerning dance in church. She discusses worship dancer’s true motivation, congregational attitudes, and includes scriptural references. She addresses the topic for dancers, pastors, and congregations. Packed full this pocket sized reference is an invaluable tool for anyone wanting to understand more of why we should have dance in church. I believe if I had read this fine jewel many years ago it might have helped me on so many personal levels as well as with those around me. I am thankful for it and will recommend it to anyone seeking to understand Dance in Church further.

Pros: The Dance in the Churh: Whats the Pointe? book, was my very first book and I love it! It answered many questions that I had about dancing in the church and encouraged me to get past the fear of man. I have experienced many of the same dilemmas and hardships mentioned in the book and I could really go on forever of the encouragement it has given me to just keep going. I have also received many answers to many questions that I have had from others over the past years of dancing, and for that I am truly thankful! I would definitely refer this book to anyone and everyone who has questions about dance in the Church.
