All About Conferences

Each of these topics will be discussed during some of your scheduled chat times the first year of level III. In subsequent years, Lord willing, the recording will be posted here. 

Aside from listening to the webinar about the specific topic, please follow the specific course instructions in each section, respectively.

1 Prayer and Planning

After listening/watching the webinar, write an essay that includes the following:

Host Communication - You practiced this type of communication in Level II. This time, simply include a little about what you heard Pastor Lynn talk about in the webinar about this subject.

Appointments that Stick - Include in your essay how to not have conference cancellations. 

Theme Creation - Pray about then write your own conference theme that God gives you. Include an associated scripture and possibly an associated theme song.

2 Web Design

After listening/watching the webinar, write an essay that includes the following:

Details, Details, Details - What would you include?

Page Organization - How would you organize the page?

Check Out/Registration - How would you handle this?

3 Ad/Poster Design/Handout Creation

After listening/watching the webinar:

Part I - Try to locate a free design software program and play with it. Create and ad/poster (to the best of your ability). For some people, this will be a joy and pleasure. For others, it may be a nightmare:) For those who fall into the nightmare category, instead of creating it yourself, research and write down 3 contacts of people or companies who you would feel good about hiring and why.

Part II - Design/create an e-handout for the conference. If you don't have the software to make it "pretty," Make it as neat and clean as possible in whatever software program you do have. Be sure to include:

Your bio 
Your picture
Your ministry name
Contact information
Theme title and scripture
Detailed schedule

If you can, make it into a PDF. But for submission into the place where essays go, above, you may need to leave it in a word doc and just copy/paste the information. You may have to send it via email or Dropbox. If so, be sure to cc Renee for your credit. But let's first do everything you can to submit to where essays go, in the link below. Thanks.

4 Spread Sheet Set Up

After listening/watching the webinar, create your own spreadsheet set up. Most computers come with a spreadsheet program, like Excel. 

Try to submit it to where essays go. If it does not submit because it is an Excel file, then simply type into the appropriate place that you were able to create one and we will trust you did it. Or maybe take a photo of it and post it to the FB page. Or try to submit the file to FB, but let us know in the appropriate space where essays go. Tell us if you submitted it to FB.

5 Communication with Participants

After listening/watching the webinar, write an essay that includes the following:

How you would communicate with the registrants.

What sorts of things would you tell them.

6 Travel/Set Up

After listening/watching the webinar, write an essay that includes the following:

What to pack - (minimal clothing and personal items); your product table items, signs, things for the conference, handouts, etc.

About setting up - When, how long, sound check, music, any products, etc.

7 Leading, Teaching, Timing

After listening/watching the webinar, write an essay that includes the following:

Leading/Teaching - Involving the people, keeping it moving, having music and notes all lined up and organized, no rushing or pressure, etc.

Time/Timing - Starting and ending on time, why; watching the clock; planning conclusions, etc.

8 Hosting DFH

After listening/watching the webinar and reading the HOST page, write an essay that includes the following:

How you would host - what you'd do; how you'd prepare; how you'd promote, etc.

9 Plan/Create Your Own Conference

After listening/watching the webinar, write an essay that includes the following:

Create topics or titles of classes that you would teach, if they differ from DFH topics. It is OK to use DFH topics for this essay.
