Level 2 Student Information

Welcome back! The purpose of this page is to explain all the instructions, assignments and information (from the welcome letter and basic information page in the web site) in more detail. You may come back to this page and the others whenever you have questions about these things. I hope you find it helpful.

It is divided up by semester, month and week. Please read through the General Guidelines before going through all the semester breakdowns. Some things may have changed since last year. You may come back to this page whenever you have questions about these things. Before beginning, please read the entire page, to get a general overview. I recommend reading it through in its entirety at least twice. Please be sure to keep the link to this page because there is no access to it from the web site.

Overview

Once school begins, there will be a PDF with a handy check list located at the top of our Level 2 group Facebook page, inside of the "Files" tab. This will be the same check list that will be used to keep track of your assignments. You'll probably want to print it out and check mark as you go.

Remember: It is always best to review the Guidelines and Semester pages to know what assignments to do and only use the check list, as a check list.

Orientation

I'd like, sometime during the first month of school (between January 10th and January 31st), to have a phone chat/webinar only with Level 2, so we may discuss your page and the AP program together. If at all possible try to be in front of your computer while we are on the call, so we can all look together. The date and time was in your welcome letter.

We will be having a chat for level 1 new students as well to go over guidelines and their Level 1 page. It would be most helpful if you could make it to that chat as well to go over the guidelines and also to lend support and make suggestions for the new students. Thanks.

Please know that they would really appreciate hearing from someone who has had experience going through the school. It would give them so much help and encouragement. Thanks so much!

Intro Video

Sometime between January 10th and January 31st, please upload a very brief, 4-5 minute introduction video of yourself and post it on the Level 1 Facebook page. Be sure to mention that you are a level 2 student. Mention your name, where you are from, name of ministry if you have one, or you are a part of one, maybe how long you've been dancing or what sort of training, if any, etc.

Then mention why you decided to go on to Level 2 and what you hope to gain from the course. Maybe offer Level 1 students some encouragement. Also, please mention who your accountability partner is, so they will know who you are. It may not hurt to practice keeping it under 6 minutes :)

General Guidelines - Very Important!

PLEASE REFER TO THE GUIDELINES PAGE HERE

All guidelines, rules and directions apply. We will go over it all on the initial orientation phone chat, but please read, study and understand it all first. It would be wise to book mark both the guidelines page and this, your assignment page, so you may refer to both of them often. Thanks! The first phone chat, we'll go over all of the level 1 assignment page, which includes these guidelines. Having you there on this chat will be most helpful, as you've done the assignments before and can help explain or describe assignments.

We'll go specifically over your Level II assignments on another chat.

Facebook

The Facebook page for Level 2 is called:  Level 2 DFH School

Each week, you'll have a Facebook conference page assignment, as outlined in the Guidelines page.

Please be sure to tell your web check manager (found on the AAP page in guidelines) that you will have checked it and done what the particular assignment is.

If you see that a conference may be missing or the information doesn't match the DFH Web site's conference page or the dates are wrong or anything of a "needs fixing" nature, please let Pastor Lynn know. Also, if you happen to notice a new conference on the DFH web site, but it is not in the DFH Facebook conference/events listing, please let her know that too. Thanks so much!

While you are in there, please remember to make a comment.

Accountability Partner Program (APP)

Who can remember what it was like to journey through your first level of the DFH school?  At times it may have seemed a bit overwhelming.  It may have even felt as if you would never finish, and then there is Level 2 and now 3. ☺

Although Pastor Lynn has done an excellent job over the years to build community, fellowship, and relationship among her students, the ministry is expanding and growing.  With that growth comes exciting change.  The community and sisterhood/brotherhood she has built over the years isn’t going to change, but she has implemented a new program within the school called the Accountability Partner Program (APP).  This program is an amazing opportunity for each of you to help to assist her in coaching the Level 1 and Level 2 students along their journey.  Just think, you will be playing a VITAL role in the destiny of one of your Kingdom brothers or sisters!  This program is meant to not only assist Pastor Lynn, but also allow each of you to have an active part in pouring into the next generation of DFH students and future alumni. There have been wonderful, shatterproof bonds created among the brotherhood/sisterhood that is beyond words.

After prayer, we will work on matching up a DFH Alumni to one student (or more, depending on the response and ratio). Current Alumni may request someone that they worked with last year. We will then pair you accordingly.

Additionally, this year, we will select a handful of faithful alumni with servant's hearts, who are dedicated to the Lord and the work of Dancing For Him Ministries and begin a new 'grading system,' designed to support good accountability and ease of keeping track of assignments.

Here is a chart that shows who will "grade" what.

The course is Pass/Fail. So, while you may possibly see a letter or number grade on an assignment in the Moodle software, please know that it only means it was submitted. It does not reflect the level or excellence of your work. It is just the way the system works. Thanks.

DFH Alumni are given the opportunity to be an Accountability Partner and are required to serve in this capacity on a rotation basis to maintain communication with the ministry and remain in good standing to keep their license.

Level 3 students - The APP is included as a required part of your curriculum. Since there is no "level 4," Each level 3 student will "buddy up" with a fellow level 3 student. If it is not even, we will find an alumni for your AP.

All students still send/submit their homework in as outlined in the guidelines.

Here is a basic idea of who sends what where...

ESSAYS

Level I - Submit essays to your Moodle account in the appropriate place. Also, to your AP, via Email. They will read and comment within one week.

Level 2 - Submit essays to your AP. They will read and comment within one week. Also submit them in the appropriate form in the DFH web site.

Level 3 - Submit essays to your Moodle account in the appropriate place. Also, to your AP Buddy, via Email. They will read and comment within one week.

VIDEO UPLOADS

Level I - Submit Youtube link to your Moodle account in the appropriate place. Also, tag your AP when you submit the Youtube link to your level's Facebook page. They will watch and comment within one week.

Level 2 - Tag your AP when you submit the Youtube link to your level's Facebook page. They will watch and comment within one week.

Level 3 - Submit Youtube link to your Moodle account in the appropriate place. Also, tag your AP when you submit the Youtube link to your level's Facebook page. They will watch and comment within one week.

What does being an accountability partner do?

Listed below is a general overview:

  • Helping students get off to a good start with their schooling, which would include guiding them on how to record and upload to Youtube, Moodle and Facebook, and tips on essay writing
  • Reading and commenting on their essays
  • Watching and commenting on their video uploads
  • Encouragement & exhortation along their journey - It would be nice if you prayed with your mentee at the least weekly.
  • AP's must respond to an assignment immediately (within a week)

What it is not: It is not intended to be a crutch for the new student. The new student is privi to the instructions just like everyone else. They should get familiar with the assignment pages as well as the guidelines page, so they will be able to find things on their own. You may be able to help them find it more quickly, or point them in the right direction. But it is not intended for you to hold their hand and doing research for them. The school is designed to help people to grow and that includes researching for information on their own or with maybe a little guidance.

The best part is you also have the opportunity to pray for and/or with your partner.  We believe this will help connect the hearts of the DFH students in an even greater way than it has already done over the years.

Isn’t it exciting to be chosen to impact the lives and hearts of women as you serve the Lord?

Accountability Partner Check (AP Check)

Students - A performance evaluation about your AP will be required at the end of each month, to be sent to TANYA PEREZ.

APs - A performance evaluation about your student will be required at the end of each month, to be sent to TANYA PEREZ.

Please simply submit an AP Check via email to Tanya. Simply type AP Check in the subject line. If you want to make any comments about a particular student's feelings or progress in the letter as well, you may. To indicate that you'd like to say something, please put OPEN in the subject line. Otherwise they will only see that AP check was done and not read it. Thanks!

At the end of the month, Tanya will mark on the AP online chart, that an AP Check will have been sent.

To reiterate, you only need to read your mentee's essays and any sort of written assignments, sending your positive comments back to them. No need to send your comments to Pastor Lynn or Tanya. You would watch and make positive comments on their videos as well. So, no need to concern yourself with their web checks or their chat questions or their reviews or anything other than their written assignments and videos. Thanks!

Pastor Lynn - will be randomly choosing uploads or essays to read or watch, from different students periodically.

Once you have read and understood your responsibilities about being either an accountability partner or a mentee (student), please agree with your electronic signature at the very bottom of THIS FORM.

Mouse over the words that say, "THIS FORM" in blue and you will discover that it is a link to the form page. Thank you!

APS/ALUMNI - Just scroll past everything else in that form and just get to the AP agreement, because you will have already done or answered all the other items in Level I.

LEVEL I - You must complete the entire form in Moodle, under questionnaire (not in the form here).

Working together like this with so much support and encouragement will prove to be a tremendous time of learning, growing, and enjoying close knit fellowship. Destiny calls... onward and upward, forward... pressing toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus!!

Conferences

  • Sometime between February and November, you must attend and serve at two DFH conferences. One of the conferences can be your graduation conference, should you choose.
  • A conference where Pastor Lynn is one of many teachers at someone else's conference does NOT count as one of the two. It is preferred you attend two DFH conferences where Pastor Lynn is doing all the teaching.
  • You may possibly be asked to help demonstrate the flags, receive the Friday night offering, help demonstrate some of the modern dance technique or across the floor movements, hand me flags, give out kleenex, etc.
  • You'll be asked to help with registration and/or product table, help with set up, break down, inventory, counting people off in groups, etc.

Requirements for Licensure

  • Successfully Complete the Level 2 course.
  • During or before the 3rd week in October, if it looks like you will be completing the course and you desire to be a part of Dancing For Him Ministries by being licensed through the organization, please email me to that affect. In the email, please include an answer to the question, "Why do you want to be licensed through Dancing for Him Ministries?" By the way, it is perfectly fine to not be licensed through DFH. Please do not feel obligated. If your church offers that, I would recommend having them be your first choice for a ministry license. You will automatically receive a license upon successful completion of the program. If you desire to not be licensed for some reason, please write to me to that affect and you will receive a dance ministry leadership certificate instead.
  • What does it mean to be licensed through DFH?
    • Primarily, it is a means by which you can prove accountability and a deeper level of understanding and ability as a dance minister. It carries a little more weight than just the certificate of completion.
    • DFH then becomes sort of your dance ministry covering, never to supersede your home church's covering, but as a secondary prayer covering and a place where you may turn to for help with your dance ministry.
    •  There would be a greater covenant relationship with DFH and Pastor Lynn.
      • With that, please keep in touch. Let Pastor Lynn know now and then what you've been up to, with regard to your ministry
    • Because you will be closely connected to DFH, you would serve, like a deacon in a church would.
  • Ways you can serve...
    • Reading current student's essays and watching video uploads, making positive comments (continuing to be an accountability partner).
    • Or maybe help run the camera when she is producing new videos.
    • Or help be in videos, etc.
    • Or help Pastor Lynn with online projects to facilitate the growth of DFH. Like Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, iTunes, etc.
    • Help promote the ministry through social media
    • Host DFH conferences
    • Support the ministry by attending and serving at the conferences.
    • Sell DFH products at your workshops
    • Sell DFH products on your web site
    • Continue to visit the DFH FB page and make comments, or sharing events and such
    • As the Lord leads, seed no obligation offerings into DFH
  • What does it mean to be an Alumni?

Course Review

In October, please do a video upload review or evaluation of the course. This would be short, like 2-3 minutes max. Say it as if you were enthusiastically talking to a friend about how much you liked the course and maybe how it helped you in your call to dance for Him or how you've grown because of your participation. You may read some of the others' evaluations that were written on the course information pages or watch some of the other's videos, to get an idea. Please post this in YouTube first (unlisted, if you don't want the world to randomly see it). Then share the link on the Level 1 Facebook page. I may choose yours to share it on the main web site as well. Thanks!

Graduation

Graduation will be held at the last conference/retreat location of the year. If you can not attend the graduation ceremony, your certificate(s) will be mailed about a week after that conference is over. Blessings on your journey through the school!
