Growth in each student's dance ability is not only dependent upon their natural ability and the training provided by the instructors, but also the availability of the student in class on a consistent basis and their overall attitude. Parents and instructors have the power to determine and control a student’s attitude toward his or her school and classroom environment. Therefore it is crucial that parents and instructors commit themselves to work closely together. With this in mind, please read and sign the following Statement of Faith. STATEMENT OF FAITH THE SCRIPTURES TO BE THE WORD OF GOD: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for instruction in righteousness.” “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword.” (John 1:1, II Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12) IN ONE GOD: “The Lord our God is one Lord.” “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these are one.” (Mark 12:29, I John 5:7) JESUS CHRIST: “but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” “. . .Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and the rose again the third day. . .” “Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” (John 20:31, Revelation 19:16, I Corinthians 15:3-4, I Peter 3:22). BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: “For John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” “Then laid they their hand on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.” “And they all were filled with the Holy ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon; and ye shall be witnesses unto me. . .” (Acts 1:5, Acts 8:17, Acts 1:8) STATEMENT OF FAITH THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST: “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular” “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” “And eh gave some apostles; and some prophets, and some evangelist, and some pastors, and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” (I Corinthians 12:27, Romans 12:4-5, Ephesians 4:11-12) CHRIST WILL RETURN AND THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord. . .” So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Hebrews 9:28) FINAL JUDGMENT: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (II Corinthians 5:10) MAN IS A THREE PART BEING: “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Thessalonians 5:23) THE SALVATION OF MAN: “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. And with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” “Being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath though him.” “For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Romans 10:9-10, Romans 5:9, Ephesians 2:8) WATER BAPTISM: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost.” “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hat raised him from the dead.” “. . . Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” “And Jesus, when he baptized, went up straightway out of water.” (Matthew 28:19, Colossians 2:12, Acts 2:38, Matthew 3:16) __________________________________ __________________________________________ Signature of Mother (if under 19) Date Signature of Father (if under 19) Date ____________________________________________ Signature of Student Date |
